Every DEMASA Authorised Provider and Registered Practitioner is bound by this Code as a condition of membership. Non-compliance may result in disciplinary action, suspension or removal.
The DEMASA Code of Conduct
This Code applies to all Authorised Providers and Registered Practitioners. Click each section to expand.
- Act with honesty, integrity and professionalism at all times in dealings with consumers, creditors and DEMASA.
- Disclose all conflicts of interest immediately to DEMASA and to any affected consumer.
- Never engage in conduct that brings DEMASA or the debt mediation industry into disrepute.
- Maintain the competency and knowledge required for registered functions.
- Never misrepresent your authority, legal standing or the nature of your services.
Binding Statement: This Code is a binding condition of DEMASA membership. Non-compliance may result in formal investigation, Written Warning, Fine, Corrective Instruction, Suspension, or Termination. Members accept that DEMASA will act on evidence of non-compliance without delay, while affording procedural fairness throughout.
